As a “context” company in the Internet age, Digital Garage, Inc. (hereinafter “DG”) engages in diverse businesses centering in the areas of offering solutions, portal and blog services, and business incubation. In running these businesses, DG receives and/or collects personal information from customers, business partners, employees, etc. In handling personal information, DG duly recognizes the importance of privacy protection and pays its utmost care to such protection. DG’s view on privacy is described in the following items that we are determined to implement firmly.
DG defines personal information as “the name, address, date of birth, profession, and other descriptions of an individual; numbers, symbols, and other codes that are given to the individual; and images and voices that can identify the individual (including data which may not directly identify the individual but may be used to identify the individual by cross-checking it with other data).”
When collecting personal information, DG will clearly state the purpose of use, collect personal information in a lawful and fair manner, and will not use such personal information other than for the stated purpose. The purpose of use as defined by DG is described in the separate sheet “Handling Personal Information.”
In addition, DG will not collect, use, or provide personal information concerning race, ethnicity, family line, family status, birth place, permanent domicile, religion, political view, labor union membership, or sexual life of the individual.
Moreover, DG will not provide collected personal information to any other third party without the obtained consent of the individual. However, in the cases where DG receives an order to submit personal information in accordance with a law (in the cases where DG is ordered by a court, Public Prosecutors Office, the police, or other legal agency to submit information given by customers, ID registration content, and/or registration profile), DG may submit such information.
To prevent personal information from being used for other than the stated purpose of use, DG will create internal rules on the handling of personal information, distribute such rules to all officers, employees, temporary staff, etc. (hereinafter “Employees”) and handle personal information accordingly.
DG complies with laws, guidelines and other standards established by the Government of Japan.
To ensure the accuracy and security of personal information, DG implements safety measures to protect personal information, which also contributes to the prevention of leakage, loss and damage of personnel information. DG also periodically reviews its security measures and makes revisions as necessary.
In cases where personal information handling is outsourced, DG will select a contractor who meets the appropriate standards regarding personal information protection, and conclude an entrustment agreement for personal information protection with the contractor, and supervise and direct the contractor in the implementation of such handling.

Furthermore, in cases where the individual would like to check, revise or delete any personal information, such individual must contact us directly. Upon confirmation that the actual person of the personal information is contacting DG, DG will accept the request to a reasonable extent. This procedure is necessary to prevent falsification by third parties.

Continuous improvement of the personal information protection management system
To protect and properly handle personal information, DG has established and implemented the Personal Information Protection Management System* and maintains and carries out the continuous improvement of the system.
If DG makes a significant change in its personal information protection policy, such change will be posted on our website for announcement.
