- ONL will receive 5% equity stake in your company. (In the case of unregistered companies, this shall occur after incorporation.)
- During the duration of the program, you must participate in the events held by ONL.
- Your team’s activities will be publicized and introduced through ONL events, website, and other mediums.
- During the duration of the program, any outside funding or investments must be discussed with the ONL staff beforehand.

- You should possess the necessary skills to develop a prototype of your service, suitable for demonstration, during the duration of the program.
- You will follow other rules and regulations concerning the application and participation of the program.
- In the case of corporate entities, the service presented during application shall be your main business.
- Your nationality or age will not come into question. However, during the duration of the program, you need to have the proper qualifications for staying in Japan.
- What is a Social Entrepreneur?
- A Social Entrepreneur is an entrepreneur who produces valuable contribution to society, while focusing on profit from a business stand point.
- Can corporate entities apply?
- Yes. But as a rule, the founders of the corporate entity must be included in the applying team.
- Can I apply multiple times/Can I apply through multiple teams?
- Yes.
- Must I sign a contract?
- Upon acceptance into the program, you will have to sign a contract with ONL.
- Can I apply, even though there are no engineers in my team?
- It is possible, but only if you can convince us that you will be able to develop/release during the program’s duration. In general, teams with engineers take precedence.
- Is using developers outside the team allowed?
- Yes.
- Are minors or students allowed to apply?
- Yes. In case of minors, a guardian’s consent is required.
- If I apply as a team, is it possible to change/reduce the team members later on?
- No, except in rare/unavoidable cases. As a rule, you will participate in the program with the members specified during application.
- May I submit the necessary application documents in English?
- Yes.
- What if I cannot speak Japanese?
- It’s OK, if you can speak English.
- Must I reside in Tokyo during the program?
- You should be able to come to ONL as necessary, but there is no need for you to always be in Tokyo.
- Can I request additional funding for additional costs, especially concerning development?
- Outside of the funding you receive when you are accepted into the program, there is no additional funding.
- Is it OK if we finish development before the 3-month period is over?
- That is fine.
- Is it possible to refuse ONL's right for equity stake, or change the percentage?
- No.
- Is press coverage on our work allowed?
- It is allowed, but please consult with the ONL staff.
- Is it necessary to disclose proprietary/confidential information concerning the service/team?
- No, it is not necessary.
- Can I apply even if my business is already currently running or financed?
- Yes.
- Concerning the handling of private information
- All personal information received through the application will only be used in communications during the selection process and after passing the selection.
